Unveiling an Unique Steam Demo: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of engaging indie games. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a character that is truly a piece of poop trying to travel to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: you only need a one button to leap. In numerous stages, battle boss fights and unlock a shop to purchase outfits for your fecal avatar.

Time your actions precisely, since one wrong move means beginning again. Leap on bubbles to hurl your character to new heights, traverse fragile platforms, and activate triggers to open new areas. Earn UN-KOINS for buying more difficult levels in which things ramps up.

Visually, the demo boasts eye-catching environments and a killer soundtrack. The retro visual style of morphing basic polygons evokes memories of gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

While it's tough to name other games where you control a coiled turd, interactive entertainment have long incorporated scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can craft throwables from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as fertilizer. Naturally, this theme appears a lot in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly concept, Unko Technica has already earned notable awards, including taking top honors at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. This trial version is accessible currently on Steam, with the complete version set to arrive on Steam on November 19.
