19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better serve.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
